How To Prevent Cashmere Shawls From Becoming Itchy?

Cashmere is a soft and delicate fabric. Wearing a cashmere wrap shawl you may feel warm and comfortable. However, you may have bought a cashmere pashmina shawl from a cashmere shawl sale, which is not pure and thus itch. So here is how you can get rid of the itch.

  • Take two tablespoons of white vinegar. Combine it with the cold water and swirl. Turn the garment inside out. Then immerse it into the mixture until it is certain that it is completely wet; then drain it.
  • On the damp sweater, apply a good hair conditioner. Try to avoid cheap options as they tend to grow waxy.
  • Let the conditioner settle for 30 minutes, then rinse off the conditioner with cold running water. Press the sweater carefully to remove the rest of the water, so that its shape is not lost.
  • Put a towel and let the sweater dry. Fold it nicely and put it in a large plastic zip-top bag when it is fully dry.
  • Put the bag overnight in the freezer, and it’s going to not itch again in the morning! The conditioner and the vinegar make the fibres softer and block the sweater so that it does not show off its short fiber.
